The Reds’ friendly against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa at the Optus Stadium will take place at 17:45 local time, which is 10:45 BST.
Back in 2019, the Reds enjoyed a two-game spell at the Optus Stadium, which had been open for just a year prior to our first visit.

Aston Villa began their pre-season playing a fixture in England against Walsall, before travelling out to Australia to compete in – and win – the Queensland Champions Cup. They beat Leeds United 1-0 and then defeated Brisbane Roar by the same scoreline, after England youth internationals Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Cameron Archer combined for the latter to score the winning goal.
Villa are unbeaten during pre-season, with head coach Gerrard taking many positives from the previous games. So the Midlanders will hope to continue their strong form against the Reds on Saturday.
